Frelighsburg to Jay or (Jay Twice)
Difficulty level :difficult for the long ride 97km
Moderate for the short ride 50km.


1. From Frelighsburg proceed on the 237 south towards the USA border once across the road is called the 108.Stay left towards West Berkshire then left again unto the 118 towards East Berkshire.

2. The 118 goes along Trout River past Montgomery (the shortcut starts here) towards Montgomery Center .in Montgomery Center turn onto the 242. The climb up Jay begins.

3. It is about an 8 km climb the steepest part is t the top and it is quite long. The descend on the East side is very pleasant.

4. The road flatten at the bottom before reaching the intersection at Jay, it is the perfect place to stop for food. You should have covered about 50 km and there is no other opportunity to get food or beverage for the next 25 km.

5. Turn left at the intersection it is a short slightly uphill road that leads to the 105.

6. Turn left this is the climb from the other side.


7. It is along climb but it is less difficult than the one you just did.


8. The downhill is mostly straight.

9. Keep left at the junction with the 105A near the railroad tracks and ride past Steven Mills into Richford.

10. In town turn right onto road 139 and go across the metallic bridge.

11. Turn left immediately after the bridge. There is no sign saying that it goes to Canada. (Do not continue to the right on road 139 .If you cross tracks near a gas station you have gone too far.

12. You will cross another little bridge out of town.

13. Stay on the right reaching the hill on Pinnacle road.

14. Once in Canada keep going until you reach the intersection with the 237.You will be in Frelighsburg in a few kilometers.

15. Total distance 97 km.

Shortcut.
In Montgomery turn left onSouth Richford road and stay on the same road till you join on the 105 .and proceed to the left on the 105 to Richford.
From here you are on the long ride and carry on at number 10 above
