How to go to St Stanislas de Kosta.
Take Hwy 20 West to exit 14 (Mgr Langlois) toward Valleyfield. Stay on Mgr Langlois (201 south) till you reach route 30 (about 9 km from exit 14.) Turn right on route 30 turn left on route 201 south. You will cross the St Laurence Seaway Bridge stay on this road and in 5 km turn left on route 236 toward the village of St Stanislas de Kosta in 1.8 km. Turn right and park at the church.
Distance from the parking lot in Kirkland 57 Km.
Ride description
1. From the church parking lot turn left on Centrale, up to Rang du Cinq (2,9Km) turn right on Rang du Cinq (Chemin du Petit Bois)
2. Turn Left on Chemin Seigneurial.
3. Almost immediate right on Ch New Erin to the junction with Route 202.take the 202 for 0.9Km then bear right on Ch Teafield. (10.6Km)
4. Turn left on Chemin des Planches (13.9km) to Huntington.
5. Stay on Chemin des planches till route 138 turn right on rte 138 (If you need something it is time now the next place with facilities is far)
6. Turn left on 4ieme Concession (you will have done only 1.7 Km on rte 138) It is a narrow road and there is a small bridge at the beginning.
7. Morisson road turn left to 3e Concession. Turn right on 3e Concession then immediate left on Ch Smail. (27.2Km)
8. Turn right on 1e Concession (31.2Km) Shortest ride turn left on 1e Concession to Powerscourt
Then left at No 18 on Ch de Athelstan to Huntington where you join the normal ride at No 19
9. Turn left on rte 138 (34.15)
10. USA customs station (36.9Km). You are now on rte 30.
11. Flashing light, intersection with rte 122, turn left on rte122 then almost immediately right on rte 30 South again (45.4 Km). If you want to cut 15 Km to the ride and the hills to Malone continue on rte 122 until you join route 11 eastward toward Chateauguay you will save about 13 Km.
12. Malome Main Street (or rte 11) At the traffic light turn left on rte 11 .It is the place to stop for food and water there are all types of accommodations. To leave Malone proceed eastbound on rte 11. The first 2.5-km is a double line highway but cycling is very secure.
13. At About 59 km it is time to make a choice make a choice either you stay on rte 11 with its nice wide shoulder to Chateauguay or you bear right on the Malone-Chateauguay Rd. It is a smaller road that pass though Burke and join rte 11 two kilometers before Chateauguay.
14. The people that took the shortcut at Constable (No 11) are joining the normal ride here.
15. The distance from Malone downtown to Chateauguay is 20.5Km. In Chateauguay at the flashing light turn left on River St (rte374) (79.5Km)
16. From Chateauguay to the Canadian customs it is mainly downhill (87.0 Km)
17. (88.5 Km) Another choice: 1.6 Km after the Custom Station either you carry straight on rte 202 which can be busy at time to Huntington or you turn left on 1e Concession to Powerscourt to Athelstan (This will add 5Km to the ride)
18. Turn right on Ch de Athelstan to Huntington where you join the normal ride at No 19
19. In Huntington at the bridge you are 108 Km into your ride. Cross the bridge, turn right on rte 138 about 400 meters later turn left on rte 202
20. 1.6Km from rte 138 turn right on Ch Connaught
21. Turn left on second road Ch Seigneurial (116.7 Km)
22. Turn right on Ch du Petit Bois
23. Turn left on Centrale to the church where you started total distance 118 Km.. Short ride 80 Km.
